2010 Kick Off Meet - Address by Abhishek Thakore

What better way to kick off the Consig Club proceedings than learning the tricks of the trade from someone who has worked for some of the most coveted business consulting firms, is strongly associated with an NGO, runs a SME consulting firm, pursuing PhD from SJMSOM, does theatre, writes books and still finds time to come and interact with some very inquisitive group of aspiring consultants at SJMSOM, IIT Bombay. Who says that consulting is ‘no action-only gas’ looking at Abhishek Thakore?

‘Those who can, Do. Those who can’t, Consult’ these words by Mr Abhishek Thakore quite clearly sum up the roles and responsibilities of a consultant. Anyone who thinks is not capable of sustaining, improving, expanding, finding solutions for his own problems seeks the consultant to use his intellect, analytical power, the insight and ability to identify intricate details to come up with a solution that is MECE

The path from joining as an associate to being a partner involves the intellectual thrill of business thinking outsourcing in a 7 star environment, going places you may never be able to intentionally locate on a map, presenting to a CXO who you would crave to have a glimpse of otherwise. Who needs a weekend off, guys?????

So as the guesstimates go, ‘isn’t it fair to assume……. That the consultants drive the action today’.
